Prior to medical school, he obtained a Master’s in Public Administration studying Health Policy & Management from New York University. He spent his surgical residency at University of Chicago performing innovative research into the treatment of vascular disease utilizing gene therapy and novel biological agents. His fellowship in Vascular Surgery was at Washington University where he trained under Juan Parodi, inventor of endovascular aortic aneurysm repair. At University Hospital, Dr. Curi leads a team of skilled vascular surgeons caring for patients and researching advances in vascular therapies while inspiring and teaching the next generation of medical professionals. He is revered throughout UH for his surgical expertise and compassionate nature.
In tribute to Dr. Curi’s work, the 2024 Golf Classic aims to raise funds for a state-of-the-art operating room (OR) at University Hospital. This facility will benefit the dedicated team of surgeons at UH caring for patients with complex vascular problems. The new OR will enhance surgical precision and significantly reduce the time required for complex procedures by integrating medical imaging with conventional surgical suites. This innovation will allow for imaging, biopsy, diagnosis, and surgery to occur in one space, eliminating the need to move patients between different rooms, thereby improving patient outcomes.
Please join us in celebrating Dr. Curi’s legacy by sponsoring the Golf Classic, purchasing a foursome, attending the cocktail reception, or donating in his honor. Your support will not only celebrate Dr. Curi’s achievements but also contribute to the future of surgical excellence at University Hospital.
