University Hospital Celebrates Trauma Appreciation Day

May is National Trauma Awareness Month, and on Trauma Appreciation Day, we celebrated the lifesaving work of the Eric Munoz Trauma Center at University Hospital. The program featured President & CEO Ed Jimenez, Michael Schmidt, CEO of the Healthcare Foundation of NJ, and Trauma Medical Director, Dr. Adam Fox, who recognized the staff who work in our Trauma Department, which sees over 5,000 patients annually.

University Hospital Foundation supports the Trauma team by securing funding for programs that allow our staff to provide holistic care for our patients. We are grateful for renewed funding from the NJ Office of the Attorney General for our Trauma Recovery Center, Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program, Trauma Survivorship, Trauma Recovery Center, and Spiritual Care, and additional funding from the City of Newark for Trauma Survivorship.
