Golf Outing Raises $215,000 Towards New Ambulance

Rain didn’t stop golfers at University Hospital Foundation’s Annual Golf Classic. With over 150 attendees, the foundation exceeded its fundraising goal of $200,000 which will be used towards the purchase of a new ambulance to add to the hospital’s growing medical services fleet.

The golf classic also included a luxury silent auction which allowed supporters to bid on several items such as luxury vacation villas, baskets of cheer, and many local golf experiences in the NJ area.

Through the support of those who played golf, donated, or took part in the auction, The Foundation got closer to providing the community with modernized equipment and ER services with a purchase of a new ambulance.

“We are extremely grateful to all the sponsors and colleagues who supported the golf classic and helped us exceed our goals! We were able to open our doors to new donors, who may not play golf but wanted to support us through our first silent auction. For the 2nd year in a row, our golf classic exceeded our expectations,” states Jess Backofen, Executive Director of University Hospital Foundation.

The golf classic benefit took place on Monday, June 26th at Crestmont Country Club, 750 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, New Jersey. Golf Classic Sponsors included: O’Conco Healthcare, V.E. Ralph Emergency Medical Products, CDI LLC., Red Nucleus, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, 11:11 Systems, and The Stone Center of New Jersey.
