See, Test & Treat
A free cancer screening and health education program that brings the power of diagnostic medicine to underserved communities.
A day of women's health screenings was held at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey at University Hospital on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Sponsored in part by a grant by The Cap Foundation, hundreds of women received free cancer screenings and health education all in one day.
The next See, Test & Treat is scheduled for spring 2019. Women are asked to register for the See, Test & Treat program by calling xxx-xxx-xxxx. Space is limited and sign up in advance is highly recommended.
How See, Test & Treat Works
See, Test & Treat is a free cancer screening and health education program that brings the power of diagnostic medicine to underserved communities.
This signature program:
- Saves women's lives through early detection
- Empowers families through preventive health care
- Connects communities with their healthcare providers
In a single-day, culturally appropriate program, women receive a pelvic and clinical breast exam, a Pap test with same-day results, a screening mammogram with same-day or prompt results, connection to follow-up care, interpretive services, translated educational materials, and a healthy meal.
Women receive their results on the same day.
Same-day results remove obstacles that keep many women from following through on preventive care. For a woman who works two jobs, has an inflexible schedule, and limited options for childcare or transportation, getting back to the hospital or clinic for a second visit to receive test results can be a challenge.
