William Sumas is Vice Chair for Village Super Markets, Inc., one of New Jersey’s largest ShopRite supermarket companies operated by the Sumas Family. Mr. Sumas is responsible for Real Estate development, government affairs, and quality assurance.
Mr. Sumas is a graduate of Farleigh Dickinson University and is currently Chair of the New Jersey Food Council (NJFC), a business trade association representing the major supermarket and convenience chains, Government Affairs Committee. He is the previous Vice President of Coronet formerly NACORE, National Association of Real Estate Executives.
Mr. Sumas serves on the Advisory Board of Peapack-Gladstone Bank, Board of the YMCA of the Oranges, Director of the American Conference of Diversity, New Jersey Chapter; a Trustee of ARC of Essex County, former trustee of Caldwell College, and former member of the Archbishop Myers Foundation.
Mr. Sumas is also Chair of the Board of the NJFC and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from this organization.
Mr. Sumas was previously on the Board of Directors of Israel Bonds Metro New Jersey. He was honored by Ss. Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Roseland, NJ for his work in support of church efforts. He was also honored as Man of the Year by Felician College.
Mr. Sumas resides in Monmouth Beach with his wife, Patricia, and three children.
